Dr. Chaoqun Yao received MD and PhD degrees from Huazhong University of Science & Technology and the University of Georgia respectively. He pursued postdoctoral training at Washington State University and the University of Iowa. Dr. Yao was a non-tenure track faculty member at the University of Iowa before he joined the University of Wyoming as a tenure-track assistant professor with a concomitant appointment of adjunct professor at the University of Washington. He was also the parasitology section head of Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. He joined Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine as an associate professor in 2014. Dr. Chaoqun Yao achieved “Outstanding Service as an Online Mentor”, American Society for Microbiology Minority Mentoring Program 2011, Veterans’ Affairs, October 2006-September 2009; MREP, Veterans’ Affairs, April 2002-March 2005; Training Grants in Infectious Diseases & Parasitology, NIH, July 1999-March 2002. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and is an associated editor of two journals and an editorial board member of four journals. He has organized three symposia for the annual meeting of American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
