Expertise: Manipulative and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Obesity and NCD’s in relationship to Indigenous populations


Ricky Bell completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at University of Queensland, St Lucia, Brisbane, Australia in 1993, and  Postgraduate Diploma in Physiotherapy (Endorsed in Musculoskeletal) with Distinction, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2011. He completed his Master of Physiotherapy (Endorsed in Manipulative) with Distinction at University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2012. Currently, he is pursuing Doctoral Research Study, (PhD). His professional background is in Physiotherapy (Physical Therapy) and  have previously published mostly in that area (musculoskeletal and sports injury research). The rising global prevalence of obesity, in fact the whole NCD space, has necessitated a notable shift in his area of research focus. The NCD research arena blends quite nicely with both his academic and professional work backgrounds. Going forward, the majority of his research and publications will pertain to obesity and NCD’s.
